Our Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 arrived this week and finally had time to shoot a bit of video. I always like to grab a camera without adjusting settings to see how the camera performs straight out of the box. This footage was imported into Adobe PremiereCC and then output to mp4. I did not perform any sharpening or light control. Again, this is straight out of the camera, into Premiere then exported to mp4 video format.
Light was good this afternoon, nice even lighting due to the overcast conditions. So, out the front door I went, turned the camera on, set to movie and press the record button. One item of interest to me was how the camera focused. For point-and-shoot video, I thought it worked pretty well. I am excited to see what the Lumix FZ can do with lights, tripod and rails. Of course, let’s not forget about 4K, which is where this camera is said to shine!
I will produce some additional video from the Lumix FZ using more professional conditions, but for now, this is the footage straight out of the camera. Not bad.
