WebWize FAQs

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive. We strive to provide our customers with the answers they are looking for as quickly as possible. How much does a web site cost to build?

Thanks for the question. This is THE question we receive more than any other.

Website design varies greatly. Most design firms bill by the hour. Depending on the time it takes to register the domain, setup the hosting server, build the website, create the graphics, gather content and images, will determine the cost.

We have an article on our blog that provides more information on web design cost. Check it out, it will answer most of your questions in greater detail. But if it does not, give us a call at 713-416-7111.

After my site is built, who will host my site?

WebWize has been hosting websites since 1994. Our first web server was an Apple 700 Quadra. I believe we still have it in a closet somewhere.

Currently we run top-of-line Dell PowerEdge web servers, ensuring your website page load-time is as short as possible. Which by the way has an effect on your page-rank in Google.

After your website is built we can provide all hosting. We offer complete turnkey website design and hosting solutions for custom web designs or WordPress websites.

In addition, we own and operate our own email servers along with Barracuda Networks Anti-spam and Anti-virus protection.

If you already have a contract with a web host or want to handle your own hosting, we can develop the website and hand-it-off to you to run under your own server environment. Which ever you choose is fine with us.

How do you bill your hosting?

We bill all hosting on a quarterly basis. We do so to simply make our administrative life easier. The first month you become one of our client-partners, we will pro-rate your invoice so you are on the same annual quarter billing cycle as all customers.

How long does it take to build a web site?

Obviously this can vary depending on the size and type of project. Let’s take for example an average site of approximately 15 pages. If all content has been prepared and delivered to us prior to the project, it will take about a month once the project is started.

Our terms are 50% down to start new projects with the balance due before we go live. Once we receive your down payment, your project will be placed into our work-que.

The time a project is in the work-que depends on the amount of work in-house at the time of down payment. On average, we run 7-14 days before a project is commenced. But again, it depends on the amount of work in-house and timeliness of content delivery.

Do you offer web site updating services after the web site is completed?

Absolutely, website updates are a large part of our business. Your website presence does not end once your web site is completed. Web sites are an ever-evolving marketing extension of your company. As web trends and technology advances, websites require updates and coding modifications.

WebWize will assist you with your design, hosting, email, SEO, as well as your website updates.

Do you offer Search Engine Optimization ( SEO )?

Yes, we have been providing SEO services since our inception. We began providing search engine promotion and optimization for our clients while most of our competitors were still in Diapers.

Search engine marketing and optimization has changed greatly over the years. And continues to do so even today.

We handle all aspects of SEO campaigns. Organic, Local, Social, Pay-Per-Click (PPC) and On-Page SEO.

We stress to every new customer that hires us to build a new web site to at least discuss your SEO requirements and budget BEFORE you build your website. This is most important before you develop or hire a copy writer. We offer SEO copy writing also.

If search engine rankings are important to your website objective, then you need to technically design your website with search engines in mind. Even if you are not going to perform on-going SEO campaigns there are certain elements and techniques that need to be adhered to for proper search engine indexing. Not doing so means you will have to spend money toward ‘On-Page’ modifications when and if you do need SEO.

So, why spend the money later to redo what you should have done in the first place.

We have more information about SEO costs on our Blog.

Call us at 713-416-7111 if you have more questions.

Do you offer email support to your clients?

Yes we offer remote and telephone support for all clients using our email services. We request a point-of-contact for companies with a large staff.

We offer on-site support billed by the hour. We attempt to handle issues remotely first, but we can provide on-location support if you are within the Houston and surrounding area.
